IN the tenth anniversary year of the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, organisers are calling on everyone considering a long distance run this year to sign up for the event in 2011.
In the Year of Active Scotland, the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running on Sunday, October 2, is a great opportunity for all ages and abilities to take part in a running event.
And to mark this special 10th anniversary year, runners intending to participate in the 2011 marathon and who have completed all previous nine Loch Ness Marathons, are invited to register for a unique memento to be awarded at the finish of the 2011 run.
Malcolm Sutherland, Race Director of Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running, said: “We would like all runners who have finished all nine Loch Ness Marathons to get in touch with us and let us know, so we can invite them to join our anniversary celebrations – we know there are a few of you out there!”
Entry is now open for the 2011 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, the River Ness 10k, the 10k Corporate Challenge and the 5k Fun Run, all to take place on Sunday, October 2.
Entry is guaranteed for all marathon runners until May 1, or sooner if race limit is reached, and charity and club runner places will be available after this date.
