Hotel Hebrides are the 2013 Welfare League football champions.

The Harris club edged an epic final match against league leading Tolsta 5-4 in dramatic fashion to narrowly pip Tolsta at the post.

Going into the match Tolsta had enjoyed a two-point lead which meant a draw would have been enough for the blues to lift the title.

But Hotel Hebrides were in no mood to be denied and despite being pegged back on several occasions - a 3-2 lead being pulled back to 3-3 and a 4-3 lead being pulled back to 4-4 with just ten minutes left - the visitors kept plugging away.

A late red card for Andy Morrison looked to be the final spanner in the works for the Hearachs but with almost the last kick of the game a late surge up the left wing and near post cross saw the ball flick up of a Tolsta boot and loop over keeper Gordon Macrae for a dramatic last gasp 5-4 victory.

The win handed Hotel Hebrides the title in what was a sensational finish to the campaign.

A special mention for Tolsta too who led into the final week despite starting the season on -3 points where they showed tremendous form and character to overturn the early deficit and storm to the brink of glory.
