Lochs 2 v Aths 0 (AET)

Don ‘Lava’ Macleod headed Lochs on their way to Jock Stein glory in the first half of extra time, following a tense, nervy game at a swealtering Goathill on Friday night.

John ‘ Angie’ Campbell made sure of the victory with a stunning volley from 35 yards with four minutes remaining of the game.

The victory was made even sweeter by the fact that the Lochies had to play with 10 men for over an hour, following Roddy Morrison’s red card for taking down Donnie Macleod as he threatened to race clear.

Both teams went into the game missing key players; Lochs were without Calum Moody and Andy Murray, whilst Aths were without Scott Maciver, DJ Clinton, Stevie Clinton and Elliot Rudall.

Lochs set up in a 4-4-2 formation whilst Aths seemed to be using an innovative 3-4-2-1 formation.
