WILLIE MACRURY broke the tape at the weekend’s Benbecula 10K with a blistering performance to finish as first runner home.
The Stornoway Running and Athletics Club athlete’s speedy time of 36:13 saw him cross the chalk first on what was almost home soil with his father Neil Macrury’s (fellow SRAC athlete) family from Benbecula.
Coming in just over a minute behind Willie was second male, Angus Campbell with his time of 37:20. Third was Alasdair Macdonald with 40:20 just ahead of Ailean Macdonald (40:54) and Neil Macpherson (42:19).
The first female runner home was Shona Morrison in 45.22 with Lena Carter’s 48.22 clinching second and Amy Campbell (50.43) took third.
