Maroons beat Carloway in cup cracker

Lochs dumped league leaders Carloway out of the second cup in succession as the Maroons proved they are Lewis and Harris’ team in-form.

The travelling maroons raced into a 3-0 lead following a double from box of tricks Johnny Smith either side of a Donald ‘Nomie’ Macdonald goal.

Fraser Macleod and Seumas Macleod dragged Carloway back into the game at 3-2 before Kevin ‘Gochan’ Macleod was sent off reducing the chasing hosts to ten men.

Lochs player manager David Macmillan and Chris Mackay netted to push Lochs to the brink of the final at 5-2 clear before a late double from Kenny ‘Dokus’ Macdonald set up a grandstand finish.

Lochs held on to win 5-4.
