Any review of golf in Stornoway over the past year would have the name David Black at its heart. In fact, a review of golf in the Western Isles as a whole would have the name David Black written in lights.
Most low handicap club golfers avoid competing in poor conditions. The reason is simple: it is difficult to maintain a low handicap when the conditions make scoring almost impossible. David is the antithesis of that approach. Not only did he play despite everything the elements could throw at him but David participated in more competitions than any other Stornoway golfer.
