The St Kilda swimmers have hit the water for the charity challenge of a lifetime.
The hardy team of swimmers and support kayakers took the plunge from Hushinish, Harris, earlier this afternoon, departing just before 1pm where they will now swim to St Kilda.
Estimated arrival time at their destination, across 60-miles of the open Atlantic, is 48-hours.
See this week’s Stornoway Gazette for all the latest, news, reaction and pics from the swimmers who include the Gazette’s very own swimming scribe, Eilidh Whiteford.
Good luck to all from the Gazette on your historic expedition.
