The arrival of Team Quest to Lewis’ Lochside Arena proved a huge success.

The scheme is a bid to allow riders of all ages and abilities the chance to give Dressage a try.

The Team Quest idea was floated amongst the riding community of the Western Isles and within a few days 45 riders had signed up!

“Team Quest” seeks riders at Intro, Prelim and Novice levels to take part in what is a relaxed dressage competition. Teams of three or four riders ride as individuals across the three test levels (any combination) and the best three scores count towards an overall team total, highest percentage wins the event.

Lochside’s first event took place on Thursday 14th March, when all competitors were put through their paces, by British Dressage judge Stephen Cruickshank.

Prizegiving took place on Thursday night with Abbie Joe Morrison with her pony Fronrath Rio wining 2 out of 3 of the affiliated classes.

Winners of the open section of the Team Quest competition were ‘The Coves and the Blone’ 1st place in the BYRDS section went to ‘Stornoway Legends’

The next Team Quest event is scheduled for May.
