Stornoway Sea Angling hosted the first in a ‘Home and Away’ friendly match-up between teams from Stornoway Saltire Celtic Supporters Club and the Lewis & Harris Rangers Supporters Club.

The charity match was in aid of local charity Crossroads and also included an ‘open floor’ quiz to teams from the community.

Each of the supporters clubs put up two teams of four in a ten round general knowledge quiz that included a very tricky round on local football trivia.

At the end of a highly entertaining evening fronted by quiz master Peter ‘Twin’ MacArthur, Celtic 1 scored the highest points. The scores were Celtic 1, 117pts, Sevco 113, Rangers 1 108 and Green, White and Gold 98.

The beneficiaries of the evening’s fund raising, Crossroads were winners of the ‘open floor’ part of the quiz.

The return leg of the quiz to decide the destiny of the first Old Firm Quiz Trophy will be in the Rangers Club on August 16th, come along and enter the ‘open floor’ part of the quiz.

Thanks to Peter and Sandra for the questions and scoring and Sweeny for the local sport round and the Sea Angling for supporting the evening!
