Stornoway Running and Athletics Club’s opening Track and Field event of the season takes place on Saturday, May 11, and is open to all athletes young and old, including non club members.

So if you’ve been taking part in your school sports and enjoy running and jumping and athletics, then come along and take part. The SRAC team would be delighted to see you.

Entries must be in though for Tuesday, May 7, – and no late entries will be taken.

The event takes place at the running track at Smith Avenue in Stornoway.

Athletes must also be there at 10am sharp for registration, and the event starts at 10:45.

The format will be as an open graded meeting so please ensure you include your PB with your events if you have one. This means that you’ll be in races with athletes running at the same level as yourself, and will give you a good competitive race and a chance to further improve your PB. If you don’t have a PB don’t worry as you’ll be grouped with those the same age as you anyway.

The meeting will also include Hippo 1 for nine and 10-year-olds - the start of the Highlands and Islands ‘HIPPOlympian’ competition.

There are though plenty of opportunities for all Juniors – and Seniors.

So have a look at the entry form and see what you’d like to do and get your entries in ASAP.

Full details and the entry form can be found on the SRAC website -
