PB at Olympic trials for Kara Hanlon

Stornoway's swimming sensation Kara Hanlon has set a new personal best, and on the biggest stage of all, in the trials for the 2016 Olympic Games.

The teenager, now studying at Edinburgh University, placed fourth in her 16-19 years heat for 200m breast stroke.

Her time of 2:30:30 was her quickest ever over the distance as she raises the bar even higher in the trials being held in Tollcross, Glasgow.

Kara placed tenth overall in the full results of open women’s age group, just a single second off the top four.
