Former Rangers and Scotland footballer Richard Gough visited Stornoway recently to speak at the Lewis and Harris Rangers Supporters Club.
One of Scotland’s greatest ever defenders, Richard Gough played for Rangers from 1987 - 1998 and was captain of the famous 9 in a Row winning team. He made 318 appearances for the club and won nine consecutive Scottish League titles in this time. He also won 61 caps for Scotland during his playing career.
A full house for the evening, Richard spoke for two hours about his life and footballing career, especially his time at Rangers, and also answered questions from the eager supporters. Everyone later enjoyed a buffet and took their opportunity to have their photo taken with the special guest, who had time for everyone and signed countless autographs. There was also a raffle giving people the chance to get their hands on some Rangers memorabilia.
A great night was had by all. The Club would like to thank Alasdair Morrison, who was MC for the night and all the members who turned out for the event.
