The third STS Singles League took place in the Sea Angling Club last Friday evening.

In Section A last year`s winner Murdo Alex Macleod won all his six games topping the section with 18 points and didn`t even concede a leg in the process.

Qualifying alongside him was Dave “Blondie” Macleod. Steven Williams finished third in the section and hit a 136 checkout in one of his games and that turned out to be the highest checkout of the tournament.

In Section D, Jamie Reid and Innes Maclean eased into the quarter finals finishing first and second. Jamie hit two 180s and had a thirteen dart leg in his win over Gordon Mop Macdonald.

Saturday afternoon hearalded the quarter finals and first up was Rory Ferguson 7 – 0 demolition of Don Macleod, Rory also managed a 180 in one of the legs. In the next game it was the same scoreline but this time Dave Blondie took the brunt of Jamie`s high scoring and good finishing.

The third quarter final produced another great match between Innes and Murdo Alex. Young Innes went into a 2 – 1 lead but two 180s and great finishing on the doubles gave Murdo Alex a 7 – 2 win.

The last quarter final was delayed for a short time due to Jim O`Donnell being in Harris. His opponent Murdo Macleod eventually claimed a 7 – 4 victory with some impressive darts.

Murdo carried that form into the semi-final with a ruthless 7 – 2 victory over Jamie Reid. In the last leg Murdo checked out a 117 finish.
