THE 2012 Leanne Fund Point 5K was again a success with around 250 island residents running or walking the circular Point route.
Leanne Fund founder Willie Mitchell said: “It was a great day. There was a really good atmosphere throughout the event and we got some good feedback from people who had enjoyed taking part in the 5K.”
And wife Chrisetta added: “It is so encouraging that people remember us every year and take part in the 5K. “We’d like tot thank everyone who took part and also Murdo O’Connor from Hebrides Hygiene who donated the water, Sgoil an Rubha and Point Free Church for the use of their facilities, Lewis Sports Centre for the loan of the timing clock and Jonathan at the Bridge Centre for the load of the trailer.
“We’d also like to thank Rev Tommy MacNeil for once again getting everyone warmed up and ready to run at the beginning of the 5K.”
