Autoparts A have assumed their regular position at the top of the Sporsnis senior bowling league.
The reigning champions have cruised to the summit of the table and will hope to stay there for the rest of the season. Balls of Fury are worthy of praise – the youngest team in the league, average age 17 – as they have won their last three games.
JPS have been unlucky in that when they score heavily their opposition does likewise.
In the individual standings, Colin Macritchie leads the way with a fabulous average of 157. Norman Campbell, JPS, is in second place on 154. Angus Allan Munro, from the Autoparts B team, is third on 145. Martin Macleod and ‘Dods’ Macfarlane, of Autoparts A and Sulasgeir respectively, round out
the top five. Colin has scored 190+ on his last four outings and might be a good bet to beat Calvin Cupid’s lane record of 225.
With just under half the season still to go, there is still time for dramatic changes to the league table.
Autoparts A look strong though – will the Stornoway-based, well-oiled bowling machine roar away with the title again?
