Thirty island swimmers blitz time trials

Swim Western Isles held their third time trials at the weekend with 30 swimmers taking part from and flying the flag for Swim WI.

Lots of the younger swimmers had a go and set times for them to beat on their next outing. Numerous club records were broken at the trials and some new ones were set on a fantastic day at the pool.

Cameron Read - 10 & Under 200 Breast stroke and 400 Individual Medley, Isla Macdonald - 10 & Under 50 fly, 50 Breaststroke, 100 Back, 100 Fly and 100 Freestyle, Fraser Macleod - 11/12 and over all 400 Individual Medley, Ania Lisowska - 11/12 50 fly and 400 Individual Medley, Matthew Hanlon - 13/14 and over all club record for 50 Fly, 50 Breast stroke and 100 Back, Isla Budge - 15/16 50 Fly and 100 Fly and Lucienne Doig - 15/16 100 Back.

The swimmers are in training for some other events coming up over the next few months which include the Inverness Graded Meet, The NatWest Island Games - which are in Gotland this year, The Scottish National Age Group Championships and various other events across Scotland and further afield.

Swim Western Isles would like to congratulate Ania Lisowska on her two Silver medals for 100m and 200m Breaststroke at the North District Age Group Championships in Aberdeen.

Ania goes on to compete at the Scottish National Age Group Championships to be held in Aberdeen at the end of March.
