Customers in the Western Isles are paying over £2.4 million a year extra for delivery charges compared with their counterparts in the central belt of Scotland.
A Western Isles Councillor has called for the reversal of the decision to disband the HIE board and said that a compromise suggested by a Highland MP was not the answer.
