Designer Pei Ferguson opens up on her life in clothes

What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

A chestnut herringbone Harris Tweed cape. We have been producing our own range of Harris Tweed sheepskin footwear and handbags at Snowpaw, so I wanted some clothing to go with them.

What are you addicted to buying?

Handbags and Swarovski jewellery. I have handbags in every colour – yellow, fuchsia, cream, navy, maroon and black.

Best ever bargain?

I picked up a pair of sheepskin gloves for £3 from a car boot sale last winter. They are in a bright fuchsia colour and brand new; the owner hadn’t even opened the packet.

Who has great style?

I’m not sure. I tend to follow my own thoughts and choices and I can’t think of anyone else’s style I have noticed in particular.

Name your favourite high street shop.

Zara. I love their smart style and their kids’ collections. It’s my must-go-to store every time I’m on Princes Street.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

None (that I know of anyway).

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

My black lace blazer. It goes with everything I have; smart or casual, summer or winter. I wear it all the time. n
