Local doctor receives nomination for prestigious award

NHS Western Isles is delighted to announce that Dr Mhairi Murdoch, On-Call Medical Physician at Western Isles Hospital, has been nominated for the Doctor Award in this year’s Scottish Health Awards.

Mhairi, was nominated by her team for her unwavering support and leadership during the coronavirus pandemic. The Scottish Health Awards are the most prestigious and recognised awards for those working across NHS Scotland and its partners to deliver high quality health and social care services to the people of Scotland. Run by the Daily Record in partnership with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government, the awards are now well established in the Scottish calendar and recognise those that go that extra mile to improve the health and wellbeing of others.

Winners will be announced on December 9 at a virtual ceremony being hosted by comedian and BBC presenter Fred MacAulay.
