Airlifted from ferry

On Sunday afternoon the Master of CalMac ferry Loch Seaforth requested an ambulance to meet the vessel at Ullapool to assist a diabetic male.

The casualty subsequently went into cardiac arrest, so radio medical advice was provided and a helicopter requested.

Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 948 airlifted the casualty to Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Team assisted in manning of the landing site and patient transfer. No further information about the casualty is available at this time.
