Councillors help fund memorial shelter

Three Lewis Councillors, Roddie Mackay, Iain Mackenzie and Iain MAcaulay - each contributed some ward funds to help purchase a portable shelter which can be used at the Lewis War Memorial for events such as Remembrance Day.

The shelter will be kept in storage when not in use and the councillors would like to thank Calmax Construction, who are creating the installation at no cost, and DR Macleod who charged no transportation costs.

The shelter will help services be conducted in inclement weather and offer some protection.
