Hero volunteers celebrated

Western Isles volunteers are our heroes! That's the message from Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland to mark Volunteers Week from 1st - 12th June, an extra 5 days this year in recognition of the HM The Queen's 90th Birthday.

HM The Queen has been the Patron of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) for 63 years and all CHSS volunteers will be receiving a celebratory card to mark the occasion and thank them for their amazing contributions.

In the North West of Scotland the heroic CHSS volunteers give the charity more than 11,800 hours of their time each year to support services in the community and raise funds. CHSS Western Isles Service will be holding a special tea party to reflect HM the Queens Patrons lunch on the mall to show our appreciation to volunteers.

It is taking place at Gearrannan Black Houses, Carloway, Isle of Lewis from 2-4pm on 9th June. There will also be Volunteer recruitment drive at the Stornoway Town Hall on Thurs 2nd June 11.30-3pm.
