Satisfaction with the overall provision
The following is an extract from the their report.
Key strengths of the school were stated as: The headteacher’s vision and leadership for improvement, resulting in staff being empowered to lead change.
The enthusiasm with which children have taken forward opportunities for leadership.
Children’s high level of fluency in the Gaelic language.
The quality of care shown to those who need significant support in their learning and development.
Representatives discussed with staff and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar how they might continue to improve the school and nursery class.
Actions agreed were: To improve children’s experiences and progress in the nursery.
Ensure meaningful discussions between staff and children that focus on strengths and next steps in learning and achieving.
Continue to improve the curriculum for all children, with clear progression and challenge in all aspects of learning.
Develop further monitoring and checking of children’s progress to ensure consistent high attainment.
In conclusion there was satisfaction with the overall quality of provision and confidence that the school’s self-evaluation processes are leading to improvements.
The Area Lead Officer will maintain contact to monitor progress.
