Councillors in the Western Isles will next week be asked to approve funding of £15,000 per year for the next three years from Stornoway’s Town Centre Legacy Fund to continue the Town Centre Painting Scheme and to provide support to the Conservation Area Building Grants.
A Western Isles councillor who recently flew off on an expenses-paid ‘fact-finding mission’ to the Faroe Islands is still paying off a debt of more than £14,000 in council tax – which has been on the books for at least two years.
